Q: My cousin is going out with this guy he is 23 she is 21, they already have 2 years together but I don't agree with the relationship, I have told her before but she does not listen she always says that he will change in certain ways but I still have not seen the change. He does not go to school, he complains that he does not want to go to college because he does not like to read, like seriously what kind of excuse is that? he was kicked out of high school because he already was 19. He works at a gas station and the time they spend together the most is at his house in which she has to lie to her mom telling her that she is somewhere else. To make matters worst I have been down that road before of course not with a guy like that,  but the lying, the arguments, the sleeping around, she knows that, she has also seen how my life is so different now, I don't need that to make me happy, I have changed I'm not the same person I was before she doesn't see, does not want to understand she has no future with this guy, then she gets mad at me what should I do?

A. Dear friend,
That's very little that you can do to help her. Talking won't solve the problem. Actually, it make matters worse. Stop trying to convince her that she needs to change. Pray for her instead. Give her over to God and trust Him. Then live your life. You can't live your life to the full if you're too concerned over your cousins life. She isn't a child anymore. She knows what she's doing. Unfortunately some people only learn the hard way. Be an example to her by giving a good testimony.
