Q: I don't know how to help my brother anymore. He's 28 has a wife and a daughter who is 8. Their marriage is beyond "on the rocks". When things turned for the worse is when he came back to God. He has been working on himself for months now, he's even had to move back home, my home, so that his wife would at least stay in their house with their daughter. I don't know what else to tell him because every time he starts to have faith and feel more confident with God he finds out what she's doing. Recently discovered, she is having an affair with a man he thought to be his friend. All while she tells my brother to stay away and stop invading her life while at the same time tries to talk to him or go on dates here and there. He just continuously feels hurt and confused by what she does and what she's doing and his emotions are getting the best of him at times. I don't know how to help him anymore, besides pray and encourage him to persevere and go by faith not emotions. But what gets to him sometimes is that she is an ex-assistant so he continuously asks "how can she not know what is happening here". What more can I say or do.

A. Don't say much. Just pray. He's 28 years-old and knows what he is doing. If people changed by what we say then everyone single one of them would be in church already. The churches would be packed with people. But that's not the case. I think what you're doing is the right thing. Keep on praying and learn to trust in God. Many of us believe in God but don't trust Him. There's a difference. To trust is to rest assured, to know wholeheartedly that He'll fulfill His word.
